Choosing a college is an exciting time that begins with a journey of first understanding interests, passions and setting specific goals. Our goal is to first ensure that we understand who the student is, their strengths, and what specifically they envision their college experience/outcome to be and evaluate their options thoroughly. The ultimate goal is to find the college that is the “Right Fit” for that specific student.
· Serve with integrity, act ethically, and ensure confidentiality
· Work with high school students, current college students, college graduates and post graduate studies.
Meet with students and families to assess educational and personal goals
· Professional evaluation of academic records/transcripts.
· Provide a detailed time-line that includes specific test dates, dates for college visits, dates for essay writing/completion and a date to complete each college application
· Communicate throughout the entire college planning, application, and decision-making process.
· Provide guidance with standardized test planning
· Recommend programs to help a student identify interests, develop skill sets, and/or broaden thinking
· Communication with current schools as requested and/or required
· Exploration of career interests and learning styles with student. Share resources and articles relevant to the student/family
· Assist with documenting all extra-curricular activity and interests (clubs, athletics, and work)
· Together, build a comprehensive list of colleges to research, visit, and ensure that the school meets the specific needs of the student
· Evaluate and present to the student/guardians the chances of admission to a specific institution(s)
· Review and discuss college application materials
· Brainstorm essay topics/development of the essay/critiquing/proofreading
· Guide the students as they write their college essays that allow the student to use their voice to show their passions, truths, and convictions
· Work 1-1 with the student to complete the college applications
· Assist with appeals/waitlists if necessary
· Participation in professional conferences
· Travel regularly to college and universities
